Growing up Queer: Queering Film and Popular Culture
With Sam Hultin + Pink Cross. Moderated by Carlota Mir. What does it mean to grow up queer? How have queer people coped with the lack of role models in film and culture? How does queer romance unfold in a society in which non-normative sexualities are rendered fully invisible? The screening of 'Before we Were' a short film piece by Swedish artist Sam Hultin will be followed a panel featuring the artist plus Swiss music trio Acid Amazonians and activist group Pink Cross will reflect on these questions and pave the way for the feature film screening of the evening.
Luca Guadagnino ‘Call me by your name’ (2017), an 80’s intergenerational romance between a teenage boy and a young intellectual and one of the most acknowledged films of 2018 will be screened for a limited audience. Courtesy of the Italian Cultural Institute, the screening of this inquisitive and heartwrenching film will be free of charge.
